Growth problems sometimes happen if you go far away and dont come back for a while. To have the least issues I tend to only build one farm in the region that I am most active. They should though it can be glitchy, games still in alpha. Some servers have 100+ players on them all with their own bases and they run just fine Maybe if your system sucks, I've yet to see a limit Then I later tore down my original house to create a big flat area and built an even bigger fortress in its place:Īlso not shown are the many mines and stash bases I have all over the world In this game I started with a house by a lake (not shown), and from there built a tower on a hill up the road: I do this all the time, I start with either an upgraded house or a small platform, then build a bigger one and eventually an even bigger one Mining shafts all over the world, backup stashes on main roads, etc I would also like to build an underground base in different biomes for mining purposes, and having a few back ups in the event that a blood moon goes bad. Originally posted by bjjorick:I play in SP, but my current plan of waiting out the zombie apocolypse in an underground bunker is getting ruined by spitting cops, so I'd like to make a new base, and I've seen a few really great ideas I'd like to try. also player chests don't ever load any loot as mentioned above, so your stuff will be safe. if you took that item out after it 'reset' it'll reset when the item is remove and go (Untouched) and you can loot it right then. If you leave an item in any container, they won't 'reset' until you take the item out. as for corruption, never happened to me and i dont' see that being an issue. If you keep forges/campfires on screamers will do their normal thing, used to anyways, haven't left my stuff on while not at my base in a long time.(guess it no longer works that way according to some comments, i used to return to my base half destroyed by spider zombies)Ī wasteland city hub uses up more disk space than what most people build so i wouldn't worry about it, unless as i said, you're drastically low on disk space. but that happens when you go out scavenging also and only when they 'upgrade' to next stage while away. keeping different crops separated and an empty row on either side of rows of crops seems to reduce this drastically. Plants keep growing, but there is a bug currently that some disappear if you aren't near enough the chunk to keep it loaded. I always build in multiple locations eventually. Unless you're like in the single digit MB's left of disk space i dare say you wont' run into any issues. Sorry for the questions, really getting into the game and wanted to see if there are any major issues with any of my plans before dedicating a lot of time to this long term plan. Will plants grow in inactive cells? I assume my chests will be safe since the system seems to be able to tell the difference between system generated and player placed/created blocks, but i would like to verify? If a cell remains inactive for a long time in game, will my chests reset?įinally, will zombies attack my base if i'm not around in either active or inactive cells? Is there a limit to how much I can build? Will my save file become bloated/corrupt? My upgraded blood moon base is going to be near my current one, so same cell, but the rest will be in different cells. I don't want to get rid of my current base for awhile, so I'm looking at having 3 bases in the near future, possibily going up to the 5-7 range. I play in SP, but my current plan of waiting out the zombie apocolypse in an underground bunker is getting ruined by spitting cops, so I'd like to make a new base, and I've seen a few really great ideas I'd like to try.
